Question about when to us warm vs cool colours
Main Post:
Hi all, I’ve recently purchased some painting by supplies from an art store and got this palette made for me by one of the workers. My question is: how do you know when to use warm vs cool colours? Is it a decision at the start of the piece about whether to exclusively use one or the other? Just having a little trouble so any help is greatly appreciated
Top Comment: Often you want to use both to create a dynamic contrast. Cool colors often work really well for shadows and areas of darker shade whiile warm colors tend to work really well for select areas that are often more well lit . Highlights often work best when white or near pure white is used . Mixing ultramarine or similar blue with burnt umber or red will create a chromatic black , and in the case of shadows you can tint this with a bit of extra blue to make a deep - cool black . I've also done this with adding magenta as well if you want a cool - almost purple shadow .
Cool Plate Super Tack vs Smooth PEI Plate
Main Post:
What is the difference between the Cool Plate Super Tack vs Smooth PEI Plate?
When to use one vs the other?
Top Comment: The supertack is aimed towards printing pla at low temps with high adhesion in order to keep chamber temps low enough to keep it closed without potential for heat creep. It’s an easier replacement for the original cool plate. The smooth pei plate requires normal temps to maintain adhesion and you may have to vent the heat to prevent heat creep with pla. Use the supertack when printing pla and don’t want to worry about adhesion or heat creep. Use the smooth pei when printing other materials like petg and want a smooth bottom surface.
Super Cheap diy mini splits vs Mr cool
Main Post:
There's cheap mini splits - diy mr cool with 10 year warranties and super cheap ones - confortotal with 1 year parts and 5 year compressor warranties. I know the generic advice says longer warranties mean higher quality. However, I am very curious on what specifically is lower quality about the super cheap ones. I am thinking about putting the super cheap confortotals in my barn that's about to be spray foamed. I can source 2 ton complete sets that are precharged and just need vacuuming for $625 each. I could put multiple in my barn and just use an old phone as my thermostat. The app is nice and it's not difficult to control all units in the app. If I could get these to last, say 70% of the life of a higher quality unit, that would be a win for me, especially since the barn isn't going to see use all the time like a house. Anyways, does anyone know the specific quality details in these super cheap units, and if they would last a decent amount of time on average?
Top Comment: Cheaper than Mr Cool? This is like comparing which form of terminal cancer is better. All those systems are complete garbage.

Textured PEI vs Smooth PEI vs Cool Plate?
Main Post:
I currently use the textured PEI plate my P1s came with and find it works amazing however for some prints I don’t want to gave a glittery finish on the surface. How does the smooth PEI plate compare to the textured PEI plate or is the cool plate better, is the smooth PEI plate as straight forward to print with?
Top Comment: Smooth PEI gives a "dull" and real flat finish. It's not a shiny mirror finish. I use the PEI for PETG and PLA. Textured can be used for everything but I don't print TPU on it as it fuses with the PEI and could rip it apart. Engineering Plate is mainly used for ABS/ASA and TPU for me. All plates run without glue for me. If you have the textured PEI, grab the smooth one for nice flat surfaces. The Coolplate is not of big interest to me as I don't run into adhesion issues - but I only have the original Coolplate that required glue. All plates are easy to print with. No fuzzing around on my X1C. Washing with dishsoap and water, drying with a fresh kitchen towel and it's good to go for as l am not grabbing a french fry and then touch the plate.
Cool TP vs Goofy FP
Main Post:
TP's they're often seen as badasses. You know, the guy who rides bikes with leather jackets. The bad boyish vibe. James bond, Jughead, Ayanokouji, Kouenji and Ryuuen from CoTE, Hachiman or even Oreki. They all seem so cool and awesome.
Then you have FP's and, with just one letter that is different you go from badboy vibe and cool action figure, even main character energy, to, what often seems to be depicted as a cry baby or a goof ball that everyone sees as stupid and a complete clutz.
Am I the only the only one who thinks this is the case? If not, I'd enjoy hearing why others agree or disagree and why they think it may or may not be the case?

INTP as cool and badass? You're thinking about xSxP not xxTP. Also many badass xxFPs like Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil or Niko Bellic from GTA 4, who are both ISFPs most likely.
